Bram Schouw Commercial Producer HazazahBram Schouw was born on December 16th of 1979 in The Hague, The Netherlands. After graduating high-school he traveled from Panama to Mexico, armed with an old Minolta camera and a simple notebook. The pictures and short stories led him to the Utrecht School of Arts. In 2005 he graduated with honors in Writing and Directing Cinema. His graduation film, MARRIAGE, was the official opening film for the Curta Cinema Rio de Janeiro 2005. It was also shown at the London Times Film Festival, The Dutch Film Festival, Short Film Festival Cardiff and Cinema Jakarta.
As a commercial director Bram Schouw is represented by Hazazah Film Amsterdam. One of his first projects, the international Dance 4 Life commercial, won the prestigious Award for Best Hiv/Aids Commercial by the European Commission. Recently his Sensoor commercial got rewarded with a Silver Lamp in the Netherlands and a Bronze Lion in Cannes.
Being inspired by the beauty and misery of daily life, Bram Schouw works on both commercials and films. Still taking pictures with the old minolta camera, focusing on the minor details that hold a bigger truth.
IMPASSE, his second short film, had its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival 2008 and was selected in competition at renowned film festivals in Berlin, Venice, New York, Sarajevo and Paris. IMPASSE got a Special Mention at the International Amsterdam Film Festival and won the NFTVM AWARD for young Dutch filmmakers. |
