VEA/VCP Creative Lounge presents: BUG

Tuesday 25th May, Creative Lounge presented BUG
Funny man Adam Buxton, of BBC Adam and Joe fame, presented the weird, wonderful and bizarre from the world of music video up on the big screen. Buxton’s show both entertained and inspired as he fused his particular brand of comedy together with well chosen video and some choice commentary from the You Tube community.

The show the UK media industry gather and mingle Bi-monthly to enjoy is welcomed by the VEA/VCP in Amsterdam. BUG, that has run for 2 years to critical acclaim at the BFI (British Film Institute) in London turned out to be a big hit in Amsterdam.

Also, special to the Creative Lounge BUG event was an interview with Phil Tidy, one of the UK’s top music video producers,  as he shared the latest happenings in the world or music video production.

And now about what we did on November 10th
Carousel won Cannes 09 grand prix. Should the Dutch be proud or worried? Is it really Dutch? How do the international agencies integrate with local ones? If the perceived notion of Amsterdam as a creative capital is true then why are there no Dutch creatives in international agencies? Why is Amsterdam so unique in creative terms?

A total of 120 invites joined Daniel Bergmann (executive producer STINK), Neil Dawson (ECD for Philips Worldwide, DDB London), Paul Lavoie (Chairman, CCO Taxi), Chris Baylis (ECD Tribal DDB), Diederick Koopal (ex CD TBWA) and Bram Schouw (director at Hazazah Film & Photography) as they presented work and debated the above questions.

If you can read Dutch, you might be interested in this article in Adformatie. It gives quite an accurate view on the evening.
